The most common causes are low refrigerant (usually from a leak), a failing compressor, a clogged expansion valve, or an electrical issue. We start with a full diagnostic to find the root cause rather than guessing.
A simple recharge can be done in about an hour. Compressor replacements and major repairs typically take 3-5 hours. We'll give you a time estimate after diagnosis so you can plan your day.
R-134a is the refrigerant used in most vehicles made before 2015-2017. 1234yf is a newer, more environmentally friendly refrigerant required in newer models. They are not interchangeable, and 1234yf is more expensive. We service both types.
We don't recommend it. Over-the-counter recharge kits can overcharge the system, introduce moisture or sealants that damage components, and mask leaks that will only get worse. A professional diagnostic and recharge is safer and more cost-effective long term.
